Adebayor dropped by Togo
Togo coach Steven Keshi
Togo coach Steven Keshi has dropped Emmanuel Adebayor
Togo's Nigerian coach Stephen Keshi has dropped Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor and two other players after they arrived late to training on Friday.

The Hawks are due to play Sierra Leone in a Group Nine 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Freetown on Sunday.

Adebayor, Kader Cougbadja and Nibombe Dare were all included in the orginal Togo squad after a suspension given to them in March was lifted.

The trio were all originally suspended following a dispute over unpaid World Cup bonuses.

However Adebayor claimed that he had no knowledge of the ban being lifted and had been refusing to train with the Hawks until he was informed otherwise.

The striker and the others eventually arrived for training on Friday but were late for the session leading Keshi to say: "I'm going to Sierra Leone without the three rebels."

Three local-based players will replace the dropped players.

The Togolese federation has always insisted that Adebayor had refused to receive the letter informing him of the ban's lifting.
