Ghana will have the chance to avenge their World Cup defeat |
Ghana will play a prestigious friendly against Brazil later this month, the five-time world champions have confirmed.
On its website, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed that the national team will play Ghana on 27 March.
Although the CBF did not reveal a venue, football's world governing body Fifa lists the game as being set for Solna, in the metropolitan region of the Swedish capital Stockholm.
The match pitches together two teams that met in the second round of last year's World Cup, where Brazil beat Ghana 3-0 in Dortmund.
"The CBF makes it clear that it did not officially inform about the friendlies because the venues still have to be confirmed," the CBF said in a statement.
Ghana will use the match as part of the ongoing build-up for next year's Nations Cup finals, which the West African nation will be hosting from 20 January.
"It's going to be good preparation for the Nations Cup," Ghana captain Stephen Appiah told BBC Sport.
"We are going to prepare well before we meet them.
"We have won many friendlies either side of the World Cup so that gives us the belief that we can beat Brazil.
"We will be going into the game full of determination. We can beat them but it's not going to be easy.
"It depends how much you want it - and it's going to be revenge for us."
Brazil beat Ghana 3-0 at Germany 2006 thanks to goals from Ronaldo, Adriano and Ze Roberto.
