Caf delegation heads to Kenya
The Confederation of African Football (Caf)
Kenya had to plead with Caf to look at the country's football crisis
The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has sent a delegation to Kenya to try and resolve the crisis surrounding the Kenyan Football Federation (Kff).

The delegation, led by Fifa executive committee member Nigerian Amos Adamu, will meet all football officials concerned with running the game.

Adamu's mission follows a direct appeal made by Kenyan Sports Minister Maina Kamanda for Caf to intervene in its row with world football's governing body.

Fifa suspended Kenya from all international competitions last October.

Kamanda, who travelled to Ethiopia to meetwith Caf president Issa Hayatou, said he was happy that the continent's governing body had accepted Kenya's request.

"I pleaded with Caf to send the team to come and listen to the Kenyan people so that they can have the proper information to give to Fifa," Kamanda told a news conference on Wednesday.

"It will not be coming from the sports minister but from the clubs and referees and (they) will be able to guide Fifa on the direction to take on Kenya."

Kenyan football has been plagued by woes in recent years and last October's Fifa suspension was its second in two years.

The country was first suspended in 2004 for three months over government interference.
