Nigeria recall for Udeze
Nigeria's Ifeanyi Udeze
Udeze has been based in Greece for a number of years

Nigeria have recalled Greece-based defender Ifeanyi Udeze for next month's friendly against Ghana in London.

Udeze, who last played for the Super Eagles in October 2005, is part of a 20-man squad for the game on 6 February.

The left-back had previously vowed not to play for the national team after he accused officials of neglect following an injury suffered during an international.

This attitude meant he was not selected for last year's African Nations Cup in Egypt.

Coach Austin Eguavoen, who is to be replaced by German Berti Vogts ahead of March's Nations Cup qualifier against Uganda, selected the squad.

Vogts will attend the match in England, where six of the squad ply their trade.

Yakuba Ayegbeni, John Mikel Obi and Nwankwo Kanu all make the side.

So do Joseph Yobo, Obafemi Martins and Wolverhampton Wanderers' Seyi Olofinjana, the only non-Premiership player.

There has also been a recall for Russia-based Patrick Ovie, with the Dynamo Moscow player having not represented Nigeria since a friendly against Japan in 2003.

Squad:

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (Bnei Yehuda, Israel), Austin Ejide (Bastia, France)

Defenders: Ifeanyi Udeze (AEK Athens, Greece), Patrick Ovie (Dynamo Moscow, Russia), Chidi Odiah (CSKA Moscow, Russia), Taye Taiwo (Marseille, France), Joseph Yobo (Everton, England), Obinna Nwaneri (Esperance, Tunisia), Joseph Enakarhire (Bordeaux, France)

Midfielders: Mikel Obi (Chelsea, England), Seyi Olofinjana (Wolverhampton Wanderers, England), Yusuf Ayila (Dynamo Kiev, Ukraine), Wilson Oruma (Marseille, France), Christian Obodo (Udinese, Italy)

Strikers: Osaze Odemwingie (Lille, France), John Utaka (Rennes, France), Nwankwo Kanu (Portsmouth, England), Obafemi Martins (Newcastle United, England), Ayodele Makinwa (Lazio, Italy), Yakubu Ayegbeni (Middlesbrough, England).
