Haan has apparently gone AWOL |
Cameroon's national coach Arie Haan has been absent from the central African country for the past two months. Officials of Cameroon's football federation, Fecafoot, say the Dutchman's absence contravenes the terms of his his contract.
"It's two months since Mr Haan left the country," Fecafoot general Mmnager Jean Lambert Nang told a news conference in Yaounde.
"I don't know where Mr Haan is. The last time I got in touch with him was on the Internet.
"Since I've tried to contact him in vain... Nobody in Fecafoot knows where he is," Nang said.
Haan's contract stipulated he should be resident in Cameroon, Nang said.
Haan signed a two-year contract in August with the promise of a renewal if Cameroon's Indomitable Lions qualified for the 2008 African Nations Cup tournament in Ghana.
He succeeded Portuguese Artur Jorge who quit in February after the former African champions failed to clinch a place at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
