Hey has cited a lack of payment as a reason for his resignation |
Confusion reigns in Gambia over whether national coach Antoine Hey has resigned his post.
The German was appointed in September, as the Scorpions ended a three-year spell without a coach.
Hey has complained about a lack of payment and is understood to have received no money while in employment in The Gambia.
"Although he has not written to us officially, we can confirm that he has decided to go," Gambian FA (GFA) secretary-general Jammeh Bojang told BBC Sport.
Yet Ebou Joof, the Permanent Secretary at the Department of Youth and Sports, denies that Hey has quit.
The Department is the body responsible for paying Hey's salary, and Joof says that everything will be clear after a meeting with the GFA tomorrow.
