Zambia won East Africa's Cecafa Cup on Sunday after beating Sudan 11-10 on penalties following a goalless draw in the final in Ethiopia.
Goalkeeper George Kolala was the hero for the Chipolopolo, saving the penalty kicks from Haytham Kamal and Mohamed Omar.
Noel Mwandila scored the winning penalty for the southern Africans.
Zambia, who were guests at the tournament, took the US$35,000 prize money but the trophy went to Sudan by virtue of being the best Cecafa team in the competition.
The Sudanese also took home US$20,000 for finishing second.
The game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes but Zambia could have won the game in regulation time with a bit more luck in front of goal.
Mark Sinyankwe nearly put the Chipolopolo in the lead in the 8th minute but his free kick struck the crossbar.
Given Sinkuluma's strike after 65 minutes was expertly saved by Sudan keeper Elmoiz Mahgoub.
Meanwhile, Rwanda finished third after beating Uganda 4-2 on penalties earlier on Sunday.
The match finished 0-0 in regulation time.
Elias Ntangarada was the hero as he converted the last kick to hand Rwanda the victory.
