Angola made their maiden appearance at the World Cup in June |
Angola will name its Local Organising Committee (Loc) next month to help prepare for their hosting of the 2010 African Cup of Nations.
This announcement comes just a day after the southern country won the right to host the tournament.
Angola's Minister of Sports, Marcos Barrica, said the committee's main task will be to ensure that the country is ready to host the rest of the continent in fine fashion in 2010.
"The time now is for reflection, we have to re-programme our tasks and go into action because the undertaking is huge and there is much work to be done," Barrica told the Angola news agency, ANGOP.
It will be the first time a Portuguese-speaking country will stage the Nations Cup and only the second time the event comes to the south of the continent after South Africa stepped in 10 years ago when Kenya withdrew.
Angola's hosting of the event in January 2010 will come six months before Africa hosts its first World Cup in South Africa.
