Blatter says Fifa is determined to complete Nigeria's reforms |
Nigeria has been given until 1 March 2007 to regularise its football laws or face Fifa sanctions. The country's parliament is yet to repeal the law permitting government interference in Nigeria FA (NFA) matters.
The law goes against Fifa's statutes protecting the independence of national associations.
Fifa has also stated that the NFA must have sole jurisdiction over the management of the national football teams.
Elections for a new NFA chairman and executive board will take place on 29 August.
They will be attended by Fifa's general secretary Urs Linsi, Confederation of African Football (Caf) executive committee member Slim Aloulou and Urs Kluser, the head of Fifa's national associations department.
World football's governing body also expects the operative structure of the league championship and the constituent bodies making up the NFA would be brought in line with its regulations by 1 September 2007.
Fifa and Caf officials are expected to monitor the implementation of the roapmap.
