TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo have been disqualified from the Confederation Cup after missing their second round first leg fixture. The Congolese arrived late in Tanzania for their game against Moro United last weekend.
According to Caf, the decision was made to throw them out because TP Mazembe did not have a reason for not honouring the fixture.
"There was no case of force majeure but bad organization from the Congolese delegation who organized their travelling to Tanzania very late," the statement said.
TP Mazembe had asked for the match to be postponed after they arrived too late for their game on Saturday but were turned down by the Tanzanians.
Moro United thus automatically qualify into the third round of the competition without kicking a ball in the second round.
