In May, Kalou told a magazine he will play for Ivory Coast in future |
Ivory Coast have named Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou in a 21-man squad to face Senegal in a friendly on 16 August.
Kalou, whose brother Bonaventure is an Ivory Coast international, has refused selection in the past.
The young striker attempted to get Dutch nationality but reportedly turned his back on Holland when failing to receive Dutch papers before the World Cup.
It is not yet clear if Salomon Kalou will accept the call-up.
Meanwhile, his brother Bonaventure is the most high-profile absentee from the squad.
Also missing are goalkeeper Jean-Jacques Tizie, who played in all three of Ivory Coast's World Cup squad, and former captain Cyril Domoraud.
Both may have played their last game for the Elephants.
Salomon Kalou is not the only new face for he is one of six new names in the squad.
Goalkeeper Stephane Loboue, defender Steve Gohouri, striker Boubakar Sanogo have all been drafted in, as have wingers Christian Manfredini and Amara Diane.
However, there is mystery over who selected the 21-man squad.
French coach Henri Michel's contract was not renewed after the World Cup, and a new coach has yet to be named.
A communications officer at the Ivorian Football Federation refused to say who had picked the squad for the Senegal friendly.
It is anticipated that a new coach will be named before the game.
