 Nigeria's Julius Aghahowa helped win the Ukrainian title |
Nigeria striker Julius Aghahowa scored the winner for Shakhtar Donetsk as they beat Dynamo Kiev 2-1 to win their third Ukrainian title. The title was decided on a play-off after both Dynamo and Shakhtar finished equal on 75 points from 30 matches after the end of the regular season.
Shakhtar's Romanian striker Ciprian Marica put his side into the lead in the 59th minute but Dynamo's Brazilian forward Rodolfo levelled 20 minutes later.
Aghahowa netted the winning goal nine minutes into extra time to secure a second consecutive title for his side.
