Captain Lomana LuaLua turns Eric Akoto and hits a low drive on the edge of the 18-yard box that went beyond the fingertips of goalkeeper Kossi Agassa.
1923: DR Congo's Mputu is replaced by Franck Mantingou.
1919: Sheyi Adebayor, Togo's top player, comes in for Adekanmi Olufade.
1911: LuaLua gets the ball to Mputu on the left for the DR Congo but there is no one in the Togo area to meet his cross.
1906: The DR Congo start the second half in Alexandria against Togo. They are immediately on the attack and get the ball into the Togolese area and look like scoring again but the ball is scrambled away by relieved Togo defenders.
1904: The news at half-time is that Togo's Emmanuel 'Sheyi' Adebayor complained of a stomach problem just before the game started.

Both sides have had good chances to score but its the Simbas who have the lead after 45 minutes.
1850: Togo's Olufade is yellow carded for kicking the ball out of the goalkeeper's hands.It seems harsh and if the referee hadn't blown it could well have been an equaliser for Togo.

Tresor Mputu lifts the ball over the goalkeeper after he was put through by LuaLua.
1846: The DR Congo's Mputu hits the post and the ball rolls along the goal line but does not go in after he is put through on goal by LuaLua.
1845: The DR Congo captain LuaLua has a long range shot that he strikes well but it goes wide of the Togo goal.
1840: Togo's Cherif Toure Mamam has a long range free kick that he curls just over the bar from 25 metres out.
1839: Togo's Eric Akoto is shown a yellow card after he brings down Tresor Mputu who is racing towrds the Togolese penalty area.
1837: The game is being played in the midfield with neither side creating the chances they were earlier in the game.
1833: Togo get a corner and the goalkeeper comes to claim the ball but can't catch it. Luckily it falls to a DR Congo defender who clears the ball away.
1830: Another good chance for Togo's Coubadja who is put through and goes round the goalkeeper but again his final shot goes over the bar.
1827: The DR Congo have another chance the ball breaks to Biscotte Mbala after some good work from LuaLua but the final shot is wild and goes a long way over the bar.
1826: Togo's Junior Senaya fires in a free kick across the DR Congo box but the ball is scrambled clear.
1823: The DR Congo's Tresor Mputu turns a Togolese defender well and manages to get in a shot but it is just wide of the post.
1820: Eric Akoto has a long range free kick that goes high and wide for Togo.
1815: Mohamed Kader Coubadja misses an open net from just 2 metres out for Togo, the ball is crossed in and somehow he puts the ball wide. Seconds before Yao Aziawonou has a long range effort saved by Pascal Kalemba in the DR Congo goal.
1814: Lomana LuaLua has a great chance to give the DR Congo the lead but he heads over the bar from the corner.
1811: Adebayor is not on the pitch even though he was named on the teamsheet - Adekanmi Olufade is playing instead.
1810: The first chance of the game falls to the DR Congo's Biscotte Mbala but his shot from a tight angle is well saved by Agassa.
1806: The DR Congo force the first corner of the game but Togo's goalkeeper Kossi Agassa comes out and claims the ball.
1805: Both sides are still settling into the game and there have been no clear cut chances in the opening minutes.
