Khalilou Fadiga is hoping for more regular football at Bolton |
Khalilou Fadiga has been told to turn his disappointment at being omitted from Senegal's African Nations Cup squad into something positive.
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has urged Fadiga to make the most of the absence of four players who are going to Egypt.
"I'm sure he is very disappointed but it gives him an opportunity to play for us on a more regular basis given that we will be down on numbers," Allardyce said.
"I hope he grasps that with both hands and shows the kind of talent he does possess."
Fadiga, a Nations Cup and World Cup hero with Senegal in 2002, was left out of the Teranga Lions squad named earlier on Tuesday.
The Nations Cup takes place in Egypt between 20 January and 10 February.
