Nigeria's Jay-Jay Okocha says Bolton will play in Europe next season |
Nigeria and Bolton captain Jay-Jay Okocha insists the players are not worried about the prospect of European football next season. With two matches left against Portsmouth on Saturday and Everton a week on Sunday, Bolton are on the verge of a Uefa Cup spot at least.
Okocha believes they will bounce back following the defeat by Chelsea at the weekend, which saw the Londoners secure the title.
"We must stay focused for the last two games and make sure everything we have done is not wasted," the Nigerian playmaker told the Manchester Evening News.
"We will have to get into Europe the hard way but we are used to doing things the hard way.
"This defeat has not left any signs of nerves about qualifying for Europe, not at all.
"We still have everything to go for. We deserve a place in Europe."
Senegal striker El-Hadji Diouf could be a key player in those final matches.
Certainly he has won over team-mate Gary Speed, the former Wales captain.
Speed said: "He has done great for us. He is always in the thick of the action, his creativity is fantastic and he scores goals as well.
"Dioufy is a great lad as well and he is great for the dressing room. He has been a fantastic addition to the squad."
