Jordaan said the final list of venues will be decided next year |
South Africa's organising committee for the 2010 World Cup finals are yet to pick the 10 venues that will stage games during the tournament. Danny Jordaan, CEO of the organising committee, said the 13 original venues proposed were still under consideration for the final list.
The 13 original venues are in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Kimberley, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Port Elizabeth, Rustenburg and Orkney.
"We discussed the matter in our meeting with Fifa on 17 October but the final list of venues is far from decided," Jordaan said on Sunday.
"All cities now have to sign host and stadium agreements and it is only after this that the decision on the 10 venues will be made."
Jordaan said he expected the process to be completed early next year.
South Africa's hosting of the 2010 finals will be the first by an African country.
