Madouni wants to concentrate on his club career |
Defender Ahmed Madouni, granted permission last month to play for Algeria, will not make his international debut against Rwanda on Sunday. Officials said the Borussia Dortmund defender had asked to be excluded from international games for the moment.
He is struggling for a first-team place with the German club, where he is coming to the end of his contract.
Madouni successfully applied for permission to change his international status, after being capped at junior level by France.
Algeria, who were World Cup finalists in 1982 and 1986, are seeking their first group win in the qualifying campaign for the 2006 finals.
They are at the bottom of Group Four, eight points adrift of leaders Angola.
