With only one match between Togo and a maiden World Cup berth, coach Stephen Keshi says his eyes are firmly on the prize.
After a 3-0 win over Liberia's Lone Star in Lome on Sunday, the Hawks require an away draw against Congo, in their final Group One match in Brazzaville, to secure passage to football's most prestigious event.
But the former Nigeria captain said he is out to get a win against the Red Devils.
"I am determined to get a win there," Keshi told BBC Sport.
"That is the mentality with which we will be approaching this match.
"I know that a draw against Congo is what we will need to qualify for the World Cup but I am not going to prepare for that game with that feeling in mind."
Keshi, who was at the 1994 World Cup finals with Nigeria, had to cope with a personal tragedy before the game against Liberia.
"Just before the match, I got a telephone call from Nigeria that my father had died," Keshi told BBC Sport.
"It was difficult to deal with the loss with just a few moments before the game.
"But I knew that we had a very important task ahead of us, so I had to put my own worries aside for the sake of the team.
"I did not tell my players or any of my officials because I did not want it to distract us."
Keshi said he also kept an eye on Nigeria's World Cup qualifier in Oran, where they beat hosts Algeria 5-2.
His former team-mate Austin Eguavoen made his competitive debut as the Super Eagles manager in Sunday's game.
"I am happy that they managed to get the result they needed and I hope that they do qualify in the end," Keshi said.
