Salomon Kalou has turned down offers to play for the Ivory Coast |
Ivorian-born Salomon Kalou, who plays for Holland's Feyenoord, has appealed against the decision to refuse him Dutch citizenship.
Dutch immigration minister Rita Verdonk ruled out a fast track procedure for Kalou, the younger brother of the captain of Ivory Coast, Bonaventure.
A spokesman for the Justice Ministry confirmed that Kalou had appealed against the decision.
A ruling of the appeals commission could follow within six weeks.
Kalou, 20, has rejected several invitations to play for the country of his birth.
Dutch national coach Marco van Basten recommended a fast track procedure for Kalou.
He was called up for a training camp by under-20s manager Foppe de Haan this year.
