Kenya drew 0-0 with Morocco at the Nyayo National Stadium

Kenya's Sports Minister Ochilo Ayacko is expected to comment on Monday on the stampede that left one fan dead before Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Morocco.

A 15-year-old supporter died after being trampled upon in the build-up to the Group Five clash in Nairobi.

The stampede took place shortly before the tie when the patience of ticket-holding fans, who had been kept outside one gate for several hours, ran out.

A section of supporters pushed their way through the gate, prompting a stampede which also resulted in serious injuries to six others.

The teenager was pronounced dead while receiving medical assistance from a St John's Ambulance worker.

The six injured fans were treated at Nairobi's Kenyatta National hospital, where doctors reported their condition as stable.

Football fans in Kenya are blaming the authorities at the Nyayo National Stadium for not opening the gates in time, thus leading to the stampede before the game.

Kenya held Group Five leaders Morocco to a 0-0 draw.
