Agwu is overjoyed
Enyimba chairman Felix Agwu
Enyimba chairman Felix Agwu is very proud of his players
Enyimba chairman Felix Agwu described their Champions League semi-final victory over Tunisia's Esperance as one of the "best moments" in his life.

The Nigerian side, who are the reigning champions, made it to the finals after a 6-5 win on penalties in Tunis on Sunday.

"Determination is what helped us win this game," Agwu told BBC Sport.

"We have already made history by being the first Nigerian side to win this competition but we want to do even better.

"The cup eluded our country for a long time and now we intend to keep it for a very long time."

"We want to be the first club in Africa to retain the Champions League trophy," Agwu vowed.

TP Mazembe of the DR Congo did retain the Champions Cup, the predecessor to the Champions League, in the late 1960's.

Agwu also had plenty of praise for his players.

"They have made us very proud by maintaining our image as African Champions.

"I have respect for them and I'll always appreciate them."

Enyimba will now play another Tunisian side, Etoile Sahel, in the final.

The first leg of the final will be in Sousse, Tunisia on the weekend of the 4-5 December.

Abuja, Nigeria's capital or Lagos, its commercial nerve-centre, will host the second leg on 12 December.
