Ratomir Dujkovic is in talks to be the next coach of Ghana |
Former Rwanda coach Ratomir Dujkovic is in Accra for talks with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over the vacant Black Stars job.
The Serbian and Philippe Troussier are both being considered for the post by the GFA.
A third name in the frame is Ghanaian Bashiru Hayford, who is in charge of local premier division side Hearts of Lions.
Dujkovic broke Ghanaian hearts when he guided Rwanda to their first African Nations Cup in Tunisia earlier this year at the expense of the Black Stars.
However, he told BBC Sport that he was confident that he could mend the wounds by helping Ghana reach it's first World Cup finals in Germany in 2006 if he is given the job.
"If I was able to guide Rwanda, a small country and unknown in football to the Nations Cup, why not Ghana to the World Cup?" he asked.
"I think the opportunity to qualify for the World Cup for the first time is good."
Frenchman Troussier is considered favourite to become the fifth Black Stars coach in two years but his financial demands may be beyond the GFA.
The association's vice chairman, Kwesi Nyantekyi, says the financial demands of the three contenders will play a key role in the GFA's final decision.
"We will sit down and discuss Troussier's demands with him and even though we might not be able to meet his exact demands, we believe some compromises can be made so that we can sign a deal," he said.
Ghana is looking for a successor to Mariano Barreto, who quit the Black Stars in September to take up an appointment with Portuguese club Maritimo.
