Oliphant signed the deal on South Africa's behalf |
The South Africa Football Association (Safa) has signed an agreement with Fifa for the hosting of the 2010 World Cup finals. An Organisation Association Agreement, which is a document formalising the country's success in May's vote for the host, was signed in Zurich by Fifa boss Sepp Blatter and Safa president Molefi Oliphant.
The deal was completed on Wednesday, after two days of talks between Safa and Fifa officials.
Safa officials were in Zurich to present final details of their proposed organising structures for the 2010 tournament, which is the first to be held on the African continent.
