Kenya's players will begin work with Muhidin |
Kenya's football authorities have confirmed the appointment of Twahir Muhidin as the new manager of the national team.
This follows a meeting that a nine-man committee, appointed by Sports Minister Ochilo Ayacko, had with former coach Jacob Mulee on Tuesday.
The panel was made up of members of the Fifa-appointed Normalisation Committee and the management board of the national team.
Although Mulee, who resigned on 15 October, was said to have been prepared to return to the Harambee Stars job, the committee could not recommend his reinstatement.
Mulee's exit, which followed Kenya's defeat to Botswana in a World Cup qualifier on 4 October, had threatened to affect preparations for their next match against Guinea on 17 November.
The Harambee Stars were expected to resume training under Muhidin on Monday but this failed to take place after the team's management board said Mulee remained in charge.
