African champions Enyimba have strengthened their attack by signing former Israel-based Nigerian forward Chukwudi Nworgu for the Champions League group phase matches.
"Nworgu is a forceful striker and he will give us good options in the attack," said club spokesman Tonnex Chukwu.
"We believe his experience of playing for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel will be useful and help us retain the trophy."
Nworgu has also been capped by Nigeria at senior level.
Enyimba beat Egyptian club Ismaili FC 2-1 over two legs last December to become the first Nigerian club to win the trophy in the 40-year-history of the continent's prized club competition.
The Nigerians play Ivorian club Africa Sport on Sunday in Abidjan in their opening Group A match.
Enyimba have suffered poor league form in recent weeks and were knocked out of the Cup last week.
But Chukwu remains optimistic.
"We've re-organised and will start getting it right from the Champions League games," he said.
