Vonk made his South Africa debut in May 1998 |
Goalkeeper Hans Vonk has withdrawn from South Africa's squad for Sunday's World Cup qualifier in Ghana citing an Achilles tendon injury.
The South African Football Association has said the Ajax Amsterdam keeper will be replaced by Calvin Marlin of SuperSport United or by the uncapped Rowen Fernandez of Kaizer Chiefs.
Vonk made a comeback after a two-year absence in South Africa's 2-1 win over the Cape Verde Islands in their opening African zone group match in Bloemfontein last week.
The 34-year-old Vonk joined Dutch side Ajax earlier this month, after leaving SC Heerenveen on a free transfer.
South Africa are in Group Two of World Cup qualifying along with Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Uganda and DR Congo.
The 2006 World Cup qualifiers double as qualifying games for the same year's Cup of Nations tournament in Egypt.
