 Being top seeds has boosted Enyimba's chances of further glory |
African champions Enyimba of Nigeria and Tunisian club Esperance have been designated as top seeds for the draw of the league phase of the African Champions League.
On Monday, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) announced that the two clubs will head the two groups of four teams to be drawn at the association's headquarters in Cairo on Tuesday.
Tunisia's Etoile Sahel and USM Alger of Algeria have been named on the second level of seeds with Senegal's Jeanne d'Arc and Africa Sports of the Ivory Coast on the third tier.
The two newcomers to the tournament, Malawi's Bakili Bullets and SuperSport United of South Africa, are the last seeded sides for the draw, due to begin at 0900 GMT.
The eight clubs will play a league competition from July until October, with the top two finishers in each group proceeding to the semi-finals.
The final will be played over two legs in December.
The draw will also be made for the African Confederation Cup on Tuesday.
A total of 16 teams will play one more knockout round next month and then be divided into two groups of four.
Their league competition will be played from August through to November with the group winners proceeding to the two-legged final at the end of the year.
