Mohammed Kallon has scored five goals in ten games for Monaco |
Mohammed Kallon's fine start to his Monaco career continued on Tuesday when the Sierra Leonean scored his first ever Champions League goal.
The 24-year-old netted for the French side in their 2-0 defeat of Deportivo La Coruna of Spain to bring his tally to five goals in ten games for his new club.
Kallon joined Monaco in July from Italian giants Inter Milan, saying the combination of first-team football and the chance to compete in the Champions League were the reason he joined.
In his three seasons in Milan, the Sierra Leonean forward spent much of his time on the bench and failed to score in seven Champions League appearances when he eventually made it onto the pitch.
Kallon needed only two games to open his account with Monaco, netting in the third minute against the Spaniards.
And it took the Sierra Leonean just two games to score in the league for the French side, something he failed to do in Italy's Serie A last season.
Since scoring against Istres, Kallon has further endeared himself to the Monaco supporters with three more goals to make himself the French league leaders' top scorer.
Elsewhere, Ghanaian midfielder Michel Essien opened the scoring for French side Lyon as they bet Sparta Prague 2-1 in the Czech Republic.
