Sierra Leone 0-0 Liberia
Liberia were held to a goalless draw by the Sierra Leone under -20 national team in Freetown in an International friendly match on Saturday.
The match was part of Liberia's build-up for their forthcoming 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifying match against Mali in June.
Liberia, who were relying solely on local-based players, were lucky to survive with a draw.
The young Shooting Stars of Sierra Leone dominated most of the match and wasted several scoring opportunities.
Liberian goalkeeper Pascal Karblee kept his side in the game with a number of fine saves.
The visitors had few opportunities but their best chance in the first half when substitute Isaac Tondo fired from just inside the box but the shot went wide.
The Shooting Sides should have settled it a minute from time when Brima Conteh's corss found Alimamy Jalloh in front of an empty net but his header sailed over the cross bar.
Liberia coach Kadalah Kromah told BBC Sport that he was pleased with result despite a lack of goals.
"I am not disppointed because we are buliding up a new team," he said.
"Most of my team are from the Liberia Under-23 side and I have brought them up to the senior national team."
The Shooting Stars coach Abu Sankoh was also pleased to hold the more senior team to a draw.
"It is big archievement for us," Sankoh said.
"What makes me even happier is that we played better than Liberia and we should have won the match."
Liberia are due to play another build-up match on Sunday in Freetown against the club side East End Lions.
