The World Cup will be held in Africa in 2010 |
Got an opinion? Express it here. Each week we throw up a different subject to let followers of African football have their say. Some of your views will be read on Fast Track - the BBC's African sports programme South Africa have won the right to host the World Cup in 2010 but do you think Fifa has made the right choice?
Three countries, Morocco, South Africa and Egypt were the only countries remaining as the Fifa executive case its vote and South Africa won out.
Having lost out to Germany by one vote for the 2006 World Cup perhaps you think South Africa were the deserved winners.
Or maybe you think Morocco should have won having tried unsuccessfully on four other occasions.
Do you think South Africa will host a good World Cup?

Congratulations to Africa. Unfortunately in this game, there was only going to be one winner and that is Africa. Now is up to African countries to make sure the Cup comes to the continent too.
Thando, Bergville, South Africa
I'm happy that we won the bid, that means 250,000 jobs for the unemployed. To Morroco and Egypt I say there is always next time. Maybe no one worked harder than Danny Jordaan over the past seven years. I'm a realy happy proud South African.
PH Matangana, Durban, South Africa
Without the efforts made by Morocco since 1988, the World cup would not have been awarded to Africa. It was disappointing to see it awarded to another country with no football history.
Youssef, Germany
 | I can't believe Egypt didn't get a single vote |
South Africa or Morocco, it's the whole of Africa who has won the challenge even though the voting wasn't fair. Pease keep politics out of it.
KH Boutouam, Morocco
Why all the negative comments? Africa has won. It's the rebirth of Africa and her children. South Africa has always had the best resources to cope with a such an event. I invite every African to come and celebrate with us in this festive event. As my president says I'm an African.
Mpho, Johannesburg
I can't believe Egypt didn't get a single vote. It turns out that Egyptian external PR was a total failure. South Africa deserved it. Well Done - as for Morroco, we'll be waiting with you for 2030.
Ahmed El Orabi, Egypt
I do strongly believe that the Moroccan bid was a strong, complete bid. But Blatter wanted South Africa for various reasons. Anyway good luck to South Africa.
Adil Bazid, London
I would have loved the World Cup to have been staged in Egypt. But am happy that South Africa won it - I'm sure they'll make Africa proud.
Tamer, UK, Egyptian
To all the Moroccans - I am sorry you feel disappointed, but the best country won the bid by a long shot. People say Europeans won't travel to South Africa. What nonsense. There are thousands of Europeans who travel to South Africa every year for holidays. It is only 11 hours away. South Africa can handle the massive security operations. Infrastructure in South Africa is superb. Good luck South Africa, may it be a great African World Cup.
Rouan Kruger, Oxford UK
I'm an Egyptian and, of course, I would have loved it if Egypt had won. But Morocco was a better choice that South Africa. I hope the lack of security doesn't make 2010 look like a tournament played in a high-security prison!
Ihab, Egypt
The main reason why South Africa deserves the World Cup is that it's the only African country that has held free and fair election, and is seriously working towards building a free and democratic society. I hope that Fifa never ever gives the World Cup to undemocratic societies.
Mohsen, Canada
South Africa is the right place to stage the World Cup. It will not only be good for South Africa but for Africa as a whole. Thumbs up, South Africa, Africa is proud of you.

Destiny can only be delayed but not be denied. South Africa has proved to be the competent nation with good infrastructure. South Africa is also politically stable, free from violence and has the condusive atmopshere to host the World Cup finals come 2010. On the other hand, Morocco is seen as a gateway to terrorist attacks.
Ulasi Paul, Germany I believe that South Africa have earned the right to host the 2010 World Cup. But my only concern is the number of people who will actually turn out to watch the games.
Chigbo Nwokorie, Maryland, USA
With its developed infrastracture, there's no doubt that South Africa deserved it. I know it's painful to lose after more than 10 months of campaigning, but there can only be one winner. Tough luck to the Moroccans.
Killian Mabhena, Zimbabwean in Slovakia
The writing was on the wall for Morocco. We knew we wouldn't win. Sadly, this was a political decision. Morocco recived all four votes from the African Fifa members, which shows that we had African support. But outside influences wrecked Moroccan hopes. All we can say now is we will let our football do the talking.

 | Blatter is not only anti-Moroccan but anti-Arab too |
As usual, a corrupt and cynical governing body forces through a politically-biased decision, just as the Olympics went to Athens.
David Glancy, Darlington, UK I've never been so mad in my life. I think Fifa will regret the decision because of the high cost of travelling to South Africa. I think it will be the least watched World Cup because fans won't bother to go there. Congratulations, anyway, South Africa.
Saad el Mandri, Moroccan in Texas
You could see from Sepp Blatter's speech who the winner was going to be. Blatter is not only anti-Moroccan but anti-Arab too.
Ader, Finland
South Africa was the only choice. The other bidders came from autocratic and undemocratic societies. Only South Africa represents Africa and all its diversified people.
Eddy, Switzerland
If South Africa had decided to co-host the World Cup with Zimbabwe, they would have definitely lost. Good decison they didn't.
Desire Sundire, Zimbabwe
It's corruption. The voting wasn't fair.
Youssef Ahajam, Holland
We Moroccans are very sad after this vote. Thank you, Africa for your support. Good luck South Africa.
Said, Marrakech
 | Even South Africa's enemies know that they are the best African country |
A new coalition has emerged: UN, US,UK, NATO & FIFA! Everything is done by these masters of the world to the best of their interests! I'm angry and Fifa's decision will just give the anti-West brigade new life.
Khalid Talbi, Casablanca, Morocco Even South Africa's enemies know that they are the best African country to host such an event as the World Cup.
Chiaka, Nigeria
South Africa deserve to host the tournament but Egypt getting no votes shows that its all about politics and relationships. Anyway, well done SA, and hope 2010 will be good for Africa.
Omar Emad, Scotland
South Africa have already hosted the cricket and the rugby World Cups, so another country should have been given the chance to show its capabilities, namely Morocco! Nevertheless, at the end of the day Africa won.
