Faye wants to play in the Champions League |
Senegal's Amdy Faye has admitted he may have to leave English Premiership club Portsmouth to realise his ambition to play in Europe. "I want to play here for another two or three years and then, if I'm ready, go to a bigger club and play in the European Cup," Faye said.
Faye, who made a quick recovery from the knee injury that scuppered a summer move to Fulham, insisted he was happy to remain at Fratton Park.
The midfielder said his spell at Portsmouth has had a positive impact on his club career.
"I am happy at the club and they have lovely supporters."
Manager Harry Redknapp was delighted to have kept hold of the player he signed from French club Auxerre last year.
When Redknapp fielded Faye in a pre-season trial last season, he registered him under an assumed name to ward off a string of clubs interested in the player.
