Nigerian sides enjoyed a succcessful afternoon in the Confederation Cup as both Lobi Stars and Enugu Rangers progressed to the second round on Sunday.
Trailing Libyan side Al Nasr 1-0 from the first leg, Enugu Rangers produced an impressive 4-0 home victory to qualify 4-1 on aggregate.
Lobi Stars dismissed Uganda's Express in similar style as the Nigerian side won 3-0 at home to also go through 4-1 on aggregate.
In Ghana, Liberty Professionals beat Angola's Petro Huambo 5-1 at home and will now meet Stade Tunisien in the next round.
The Ghanaians go through 5-2 on aggregate after losing the first leg 1-0 in Angola.
Another west African side in good form was Stella club of the Ivory Coast who beat Deportivo Mongomo 2-0 in Abidjan.
After the first leg had ended 1-1, Tohouri Djapka and Serge Pacome Djiehoua scored goals in the second half to send Stella through.
Meanwhile, Cameroon's Sable Batie reached the second round on the away goal ruling after drawing 1-1 with Gabon's USM.
Arnold Yembi opened the scoring for USM after 16 minutes, but Herv� Watchueng equalised just after the hour to level the tie at 3-3 on aggregate.
Another Cameroon side going through the first round is PWD Bamenda.
Bamenda lost 2-1 to TP Mazembe in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but went through on away goals having won the first leg 1-0.
Jean-Jacques Yemweni gave TP Mazembe the lead after 24 minutes, which Ndete doubled nine minutes later, but Dronson Ketshunga struck decisively for PWD Bamenda in first-half stoppage time.
On Monday, DR Congo's Motema Pembe will play Zambian outfit Green Buffaloes after the game was delayed when the referees failed to arrive in Kinshasa on Saturday.
