Angola ready for Cosafa
The Angolan national side
Angola are to include eight Portuguese players in their squad
Angola will call-up eight Portuguese-based players for next month's Cosafa Castle Cup tie against Namibia in Luanda on 9 May.

According to the federation's general secretary Delcio Costa the eight will be goalkeeper Joao Pereira from Moreirense, Kali from Santa Clara, Andre of Boavista, Rats of Felgueiras, Maurito of Uniao Leiria, Marco Paulo of Estoril, Bodunha from Naval de Maio and Zuela from Academica Coimbra.

Also called up is Gilberto the talented attacking midfielder who play's for Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

Maurito scored against Morocco in Angola's friendly match last month where they lost 3-1 in Rabat while Marco Paulo made his international debut in that match.

Angola, who have twice before won the annual southern African championship, are using the tournament as a warm-up for their tough World Cup qualifying group, which starts in June.

Angola are in the same group as Nigeria and Algeria - who have both previously been to the World Cup finals - as well as Gabon, Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Costa, who was the match commissioner for Sunday's Cosafa Castle Cup first round match between Mozambique and Madagascar in Maputo, said his country would be virtually at full strength for the match against Namibia.

Angola will be overwhelming favourites for the match against match against Namibia, who they beat twice last year.
