The title race is now a two-team race as Zamalek maintain their unbeaten streak, while arch rivals Al Ahly continued their resurgence on Monday.
Zamalek won their 14th league match out of 17 this season with a 2-0 away win over Tersana, thanks to goals from Tarek El Sayed and Abdelhalim Ali.
Al Ahly were also 2-0 winners over ENPPI, whose poor results recently has seen them fade from the title race.
Zamalek are 8 points clear of Al Ahly, who were eighth at the turn of the year, but now have a five point lead over third placed Al Ittihad.

Setif's goals were scored by Algerian internationals Issad Bourahli, with two, and Fares Fellahi and the win lifts them to third in the table, eight points off the top.

Kaizer Chiefs moved to top spot in the premier league after a good win over Manning Rangers, while Ajax Cape Town just one point behind them after beating previous leaders Santos.
David Radebe and Stanton Fredericks scored a goal in each half for Chiefs, who moved to 48 points.
Ajax's win in the Cape Town derby came courtesy of a late goal from the Democratic Republic of Congo international Kanku Mulekelayi.
