German coach Otto Pfister is on the shortlist of candidtates to succeed Mick Wadsworth as DR Congo coach, the country's FA has confirmed. Pfister, who has formally been in charge of Ghana and Senegal, is one of a total of five candidates in the frame for the job.
He was also previously in charge of DR Congo from 1987 to 1989 when the country was still known as Zaire.
Others on the shortlist include Frenchmen Claude Le Roy, a former national coach in Cameroon and Senegal, and Elie Baup, who worked at French Ligue 1 club Girondins Bordeaux.
Officials said they were also keen to talk to Serge Deveze, who has considerable experience in Africa, and the Lens coach Joel Muller.
