A special company to aid South Africa's preparation for the hosting of the 2010 World Cup finals will be set up by world football's governing body. The decision was taken by Fifa's Emergency Committee in Zurich on Friday.
Called Match AG, it will assist in the key areas of "management, accommodation, ticket sales and information technology solutions."
Fifa, which said it will play a "more significant role" in the organisation of the World Cup, is expected to set up an office in South Africa in early 2005.
According to Fifa's statement, the organisation will commit further resources to South Africa after the conclusion of the 2006 World Cup.
South Africa became the first African nation to be given the right to host football's most prestigious event after beating other African contenders in a 15 May vote in Zurich.
