Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has been released by his German side VfL Bochum after a scuffle with a team mate. The former Super Eagles captain allegedly head-butted his team mate Vahid Hashemian as the two clashed following Saturday's 0-0 draw with Hansa Rostock.
Oliseh and the Iranian international apparently clashed at half-time and the argument resumed after the match, with the Nigerian apparently breaking the nose of Hashemian with a head-butt.
"Sunday Oliseh has been released from his duties at Bochum," read a statement from the German club.
"The reasons are connected to the aftermath of the home match against Hansa Rostock.
"As employers we do not wish to reveal any more details at this time."
The 29-year-old midfielder was on loan at Bochum from Borussia Dortmund, and they had expressed interest in signing the midfielder on a permanent basis.
Yet Oliseh's immediate future now hangs in the balance with an early return to Dortmund, where he has been deemed surplus to requirements, looking the most likely option.
