Cameroon pave path to Athens
Cameroon are reigning Olympic champions
Cameroon must qualify for Athens 2004 to defend their gold medal
Olympic champions Cameroon have kept alive their hopes of qualifying for Athens 2004 with a 2-0 win over the Ivory Coast in Yaounde.

Sunday's win puts Cameroon on top of group B with 10 points and two games left.

Playing with eight Europe-based players, Cameroon were the better side and scored a goal early in each half.

Francis Ze headed in a long throw-in from skipper Narcisse Abada in the 12th minute, while Marcus Mokake, who has just signed for Sedan in France, made it 2-0 with another header six minutes after the break.

Cameroon had the chance to score more goals but Paul Essola's 4th-minute penalty was beaten out by Ivorian goalkeeper Yobou Agbo.
