Zaki delighted with display
Morocco coach Badou Zaki

Morocco coach Badou Zaki believes his side were well worthy of their 4-0 Cup of Nations semi-final win over Mali.

"We were well-disciplined against a talented Mali team," he said.

"But they came up against a very strong Morocco team which managed to dictate the play and deserved to win."

Morocco defender Abdeslam Ouaddou added that his side's concerted effort to snuff out the threat of Tottenham forward Frederic Kanoute was a big key to their success.

"We were able to contain Kanoute, because we played with heart and for the love of the Morocco jersey," said Ouaddou.

I had an idea how to approach him and it worked
Morocco's Abdelsam Ouaddou
"He is one of the best strikers in the world, but tonight the whole defence was solid.

"I played against Kanoute when I was with Fulham. So I had an idea how to approach him and it worked."

Morocco took the lead through Youssef Mokhtari's stunning free-kick.

Mokhtari doubled the lead in the second half before Youssef Hadji and substitute Nabil Baha put the icing on the Atlas Lions' cake late on.
