Algeria coach resigns
Algerian coach Rabah Saadane
Saadane will return to his old job with the Algerian FA
Rabah Sadane is standing down as coach of Algeria.

The 59-year-old announced his decision following Algeria's quarter-final defeat at the African Cup of Nations.

Algeria bowed out on Sunday after losing 3-1 in extra-time to Morocco.

The former Algerian international said he would return to his former job as technical director of the Algerian Football Association.

Sadane was appointed as coach last August after the Belgian coach Georges Leekens resigned.

The Algerian FA is expected to annaounce Sadane's replacement in a few weeks time.

The new coach will be in charge of Algeria's 2006 Cup of Nations and World Cup campaigns.
