Cameroon told to change kit

Cameroon have been told to change their controversial new one-piece kit if they make it through the group stages at the Cup of Nations.

The Indomitable Lions defied a threat by Fifa president Sepp Blatter to outlaw the bodysuit by wearing it in their opening match against Algeria on Sunday.

Blatter had warned that the one-piece suit contravened Fifa rules and that he would intervene if it was worn.

Fifa laws stipulate that a kit must consist of a shirt and shorts.

Following a meeting with team and Confederation of African Football officials on Friday, the defending champions decided to go against Blatter's wishes and wear the kit.

However Caf have now ruled that the team will have to find a new kit should they qualify for the next stage of the tournament in Tunisia.

It is the second time Cameroon's kit supplier Puma has created a stir with a new outfit.

Two years ago at the Cup of Nations in Mali, Cameroon played with a sleeveless shirt.

That shirt was later outlawed by Fifa, forcing Cameroon to have new shirts made for the World Cup the same year.
