 Ivory Coast's Didier Drogba is short listed for Caf's Player of the Year |
African football's governing body, Caf, have delayed naming their 2003 Player of the Year until April and instead have cut their shortlist to three players.
Caf were due to announce the winner today, in Tunisia ahead of the African Cup of Nations, but have been forced to postpone the announcement by their commercial partners.
The three players now on the list are Samuel Eto'o Fils of Real Mallorca in Spain and Cameroon, Didier Drogba of Marseille in France and the Ivory Coast and Jay-Jay Okocha of Bolton Wanderers and Nigeria.
The two players to drop off the original five-man list are Hatem Trabelsi of Ajax Amsterdam in Holland and Tunisia and Obafemi Martins of Inter Milan in Italy and Nigeria.
The overall winner will be announced at a ceremony in Yaounde, Cameroon on 30 April.
