Rwanda will play several warm-up games |
Rwanda's national team will travel to the French city of Marseille for a three-week training camp ahead of next year's Nations Cup finals. The Amavubi Stars, who are one of three debutants at Tunisia 2004, will have their Europe-based professionals at the training camp.
Rwanda Football Association assistant secretary general, Jules Kalisa, to BBC Sport website that an agreement had been with France Sport, a company which owns sports facilities in Marseille.
The Rwandan government will cover all of the squad's costs, including accommodation and players' allowances.
Rwanda will not be the first team that France Sport would have hosted in Marseille
Burkina Faso prepared for the 1998 Nations Cup there while Senegal got ready for the 2002 World Cup in Marseille too.
The Amavubi Stars' build up in France is expected to include several warm-up games, but as yet no details have been finalised.
Kalisa says that they decided on Marseille because the climate is similar to that of Tunisia.
Following the training camp in France the squad will head to Egypt on 10 January to play the Pharaohs and possibly another game against a club side.
The team will then head to Tunisia on 20 January, four days ahead of their opening match against the hosts.
While the senior team are taking part in the Nations Cup their B side will be taking part in the Cecafa Cup in December in Sudan.
