The president of the Tunisian Football Federation Hamouda Ben Ammar has dismissed reports that the north African nation has abandoned its proposed joint 2010 World Cup bid with Libya. A news agency reported that Tunisia and Libya had decided to scrap their joint bid but Ben Ammar has rubbished the claims.
"I don't know why I'm hearing this story," he told the BBC Sport website.
"I worked with the Libyans until late last night and I just don't know where this is coming from."
The federation president was adamant that both nations would continue with their proposals for a combined bid - despite Fifa's opposition to the plan.
"We will be presenting a joint bid and nothing has changed," he explained.
Tunisia and Libya are among the five African nations bidding for the 2010 World Cup, which has been zoned to Africa.
South Africa, Egypt and Morocco are the other contending nations.
