Cotonsport are dreaming of lifting the Caf Cup |
Cotonsport Garoua have qualified for the final of the Caf Cup despite losing 2-1 to Club Africain in Tunis on Sunday.
The Tunisian side began the game needing four goals to qualify after losing the first-leg 3-0, but Coton took them by surprise with an early goal.
Cotonsport qualified 4-2 on aggregate and will play their first continental final against Raja Casablanca, who beat Nigeria's Rangers International 4-3 on aggregate in the other semi-final.
Wilfred Ezingha gave the Cameroonian side a first minute lead that made qualification an impossible task for Club Africain.
But the Tunisians could have overturned the large deficit if their strikers had converted the chances they created in the first-half.
Nabil Missaoui and Al Shraf Jdidia were the worst culprits, as they hit close range chances over the bar.
Al Shraf finally scored for the Tunisians in the 41st minute with Ramzy Fathali getting the second a minute afterwards.
The hosts were reduced to 10 men in extra time, with the sending off of defender Karim Saidi.
Cotonsport is the second Cameroonian side in succession to reach the final of the Caf Cup after Tonnerre Yaounde lost to Algeria's Jeunesse Sportive Kabylie in last year's final.
