Mashaba should have a full-strength squad to choose from |
South Africa will play Mexico in one of just two warm-up matches before the Nations Cup. The match on 15 November will be played as the annual Nelson Mandela Challenge.
South Africa have met Mexico twice before, losing 4-0 on each occasion.
It had been suggested that Argentina would be South Africa's opponents for the match but officials had not secured a deal with the Argentines.
South Africa's other scheduled friendly is on 11 October against Costa Rica.
The ties will be at home but the South African Football Association is yet to select the match venues.
Coach Ephraim Mashaba should be able to pick a full strength team for both games, as they are scheduled for dates that are listed in Fifa's co-ordinated calendar.
Meanwhile, Mashaba has announced a preliminary squad of 39 players for the Nations Cup finals, which will be trimmed to a final list of 22.
