Marimo will try out some new faces |
Favourites Zimbabwe and Swaziland go into a Cosafa Cup semi-final in Bulawayo on Sunday without some key players. Zimbabwe midfielder Charles Yohane and striker Adam Ndlovu withdrew due to club commitments in South Africa.
Swaziland, meanwhile, will be missing the injured pair of Dennis Masina and Mduduzi Sibiya and suspended John Mdluli.
Yohane and Ndlovu are experienced international campaigners whose absence will be felt by the home side after opting to play in the Supa 8 Cup semi-finals.
But the loss of Masina, a midfielder who interested Dutch club Feyenoord and English Premiership outfit Tottenham Hotspur last year, is a major setback for the Swazis as they seek to reach the final for the first time.
He plays for South African club SuperSport United and coach Pitso Mosimane said the Swazi had a hip injury which limited him to 10-minute appearances in matches.
Zimbabwe coach Sunday Marimo will try some new faces and has also looked to the past, recalling 32-year-old Agent Sawu.
Sawu, Zimbabwe's third-highest scorer of all time, last featured for the national team back in 1999.
The match at Barbourfields stadium will briefly shift the focus away from the administrative wrangles at the Zimbabwe Football Association (Zifa).
Fifa representative Ashford Mamelodi in the country to investigate Zifa's leadership crisis.
The winners of Sunday's tie will play Malawi over two legs in the final.
