Moroccan fans are keen to host the world |
Morocco's ability to host the 2010 World Cup will be put under scrutiny when Fifa's inspection team arrives in the country on Tuesday night for a week-long tour.
Jan Peeters, president of the Belgian Football Association, will lead the four-man delegation that will visit the eight proposed World Cup venues - Rabat, Tangiers, Agadir, Fez, Meknes, Casablanca, El Jadida and Marrakesh.
Medical, transport and telecommunication facilities, as well as the proposed hotels for Fifa centres, will be examined during the visit.
The bid for the 2010 finals is the fourth time that the north Africans have sought to host football's most prestigious event.
"It was Fifa's choice to make Morocco the first country to be inspected but we have tangible things that they will see, which will make them know that we are ready to host the world," bid official Zghari Mhamed told BBC Sport website.
"We are quite confident that at the end of their stay they will be impressed with what they have seen."
After their trip to Morocco, Fifa's team will visit fellow contenders South Africa between 29 October and 5 November.
Dates for visits to Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, the other bidding nations, are yet to be scheduled by Fifa.
The winning bid for the 2010 finals, which has been exclusively zoned to Africa, will be announced between April and May 2004.
