Swaziland are seeking a return to the good times |
The club, run by the Swazi prison service, are angry that the Swaziland Football Association announced the appointment of Banda without consulting them. Mambas are now refusing to release him from his contract to return to the helm of Sihlangu.
Officials said they had scheduled a meeting with the club next Tuesday to try and persuade them to change their mind.
Banda coached Swaziland three years ago, leading them to the semi-final of the Cosafa Castle Cup in 1999.
But he was later fired after a series of disappointing results.
Swaziland's previous coach Mandla Dlamini quit earlier this month after his side lost 3-0 in friendly at home to Botswana.
Dlamini, who had only been in the job for nine months, had been pelted with beer cans by angry fans during the game.
Swaziland have just three weeks before their World Cup qualifier in the Cape Verde Islands.
They play at home at the Somhlolo stadium on 12 October, before the return leg away in Praia in November.
