ASEC 1-1 IsmailiaA late goal from Beauregard Mabea stopped Ismailia from exacting revenge on Asec in an African Champions League Group A match in Abidjan on Saturday.
Ismailia had to settle for a 1-1 draw after taking a 63rd-minute lead through Dramane Traore.
But the result at least went some way to eradicating the Egyptian team's 5-1 defeat by their Ivory Coast rivals in 1995.
That semi-final thrashing was the heaviest loss suffered by Ismailia in 45 Champions League fixtures spanning 34 years.
The action took a while to heat up, with neither side troubling goalkeepers Guyan Kante and Mohamed Sobhi.
But Ismailia's Sobhi was the busier after the interval, pushing away a Koffi Ndri free-kick and acrobatically tipping over a rising shot from Vincent Die.
Traore then claimed his fourth goal of the competition for the visitors only for Mabea to rescue Asec a point.
